JobsPlus Launches New Service:

The Professional Placement Network

Regional volunteer-driven program provides networking and career support for professionals

JobsPlus expanded its services in July of 2004 when it officially kicked off the Professional Placement Network (www.jobsplusppn.com). Coordinated by Ronnie Dowdy, Training and Development Manager for JobsPlus, the PPN is a regional volunteer-driven program that provides networking and career support for professionals and access to a rich pool of talented and experienced individuals for local businesses. Currently PPN activities take place at the Fort Walton Beach JobsPlus One-Stop Center located at 409 NE Racetrack Road.

Already the PPN has placed 22 members in professional and technical career positions. The PPN has 178 current members, 18 of whom are from out of state and interested in relocating to the area.

Membership in the PPN is for individuals with a four-year degree or five years of experience in a professional, managerial or technical field. Some of the services available to these PPN members include workshops and self-help training, support groups, meetings with guest speakers, networking opportunities, resume critiquing and matching and all of the resources available through the JobsPlus resource room.

Business partners actively support the efforts of the PPN by providing job listings, speakers and technical assistance. Fifteen local businesses are currently business partners.
