Workplace Excellence Award and Recognition Event Planned Breakfast of Champions to be Held in September |

Winners of the three 2005 Workplace Excellence Awards will be announced and honored at the Breakfast of Champions on September 22, 2005 at the Emerald Coast Conference Center. The Workforce Development Board of Okaloosa and Walton Counties, the Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County and the Walton County Economic Development Council are co-sponsoring this event to honor those area businesses and organizations that lead the community in providing a quality workplace.
A panel of local and state experts will judge the applicants based on their commitment to developing and maintaining a positive business culture and workplace environment, their commitment to training and continuous learning, and their commitment to providing the tools and resources needed for their employees to perform their jobs. Applicants will be judged in three groups based on the number of employees working at company facilities in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Employer size categories are 1-49 employees, 50-149 employees, and 150+ employees.
Referring to the event, Mary Lou Reed, Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board said, “We have many outstanding businesses and organizations in our region. The Workplace Excellence Awards program gives us the opportunity to recognize those who are deemed the best. It also provides an opportunity to showcase some of the programs and practices that make them the best. We think this awards program is great for our businesses and great for our community.”
The
competition is open to all businesses and organizations in Okaloosa and
Walton Counties, including both for-profit and not-for-profit. Businesses
and organizations interested in applying for the awards should contact the
Workforce Development Board office at 850-651-2315 or
email a request for an application. Applications will be
available in early May with a due date of June 30, 2005. |
