Three councils and two committees comprise the Workforce Development Board of Okaloosa and Walton Counties. These councils and committees are tasked with developing strategies to target the needs of employers and job seekers across the employment spectrum as well as to oversee and market the workforce services offered in the two-county region. The council addresses adults entering the workforce for the first time and youth programs related to welfare reform. First time entrants may include students, displaced homemakers, older Americans, veterans, persons with disability and/or welfare recipients as well as youth who are no longer enrolled in schools. The council also oversees the JobsPlus Youth Stops located in schools, community centers, and community based organizations. The committee seeks to achieve an increasingly higher level of name recognition of the JobsPlus name and an increasingly higher rate of employer involvement in the design and use of the JobsPlus system.
