JobsPlus One-Stop Career Centers provide employment and training services to assist you in your search for a first job or a better job. Jobseekers JobsPlus is designed to provide comprehensive services and minimize the need to go to different locations to receive services. Our team of customer service assistants and counselors are available to assist you in your career planning and job search activities.

Job Search Assistance

At JobsPlus we offer numerous services to assist you in your search for a job. Your job search activities may be self-directed, with the assistance of our knowledgeable staff, or with the assistance of our One Stop Management Information System (OSMIS) web site. The choice is yours.
  • You may utilize computers with specialized job search resources and internet access, fax machines, copiers, telephones and publications at the JobsPlus One-Stop Career Centers to assist you with your job search activities.
  • You may receive assistance with resume preparation, resume posting, interviewing techniques and other search activities as well as career and skill assessment and testing either at the centers or through web-based programs.
  • You have access to Labor Market Information to help you determine current and projected employment trends, current and projected wages by occupation and occupational field, current employment and population statistics, employers in specific employment fields and more.
  • You have access to Local, State, and National job listings.
  • You may, after a screening process, receive referrals to jobs posted in the Jobs Information System (JIS).
  • You may, after meeting eligibility requirements, receive other intensive services such as comprehensive assessment, individual career planning and counseling, career management, group career workshops, and follow-up services.

Skills Training

JobsPlus can provide you with information on career training and job skill training available in the local area as well as in Florida or other states.

Individuals needing to train for a career or needing to upgrade their job skills may be eligible to apply for a training scholarship.
  • Scholarship availability depends on the availability of funding and the eligibility of the individual.
  • Training programs must be provided by an educational or training institution on the Approved Training Vendor List.
  • Training programs must be linked to an occupation on the Regional Targeted Occupational List for Region 2 (Okaloosa and Walton Counties).


Financial Assistance

JobsPlus can assist you with applications for various types of financial assistance:
  • You may be eligible for a Pell Grant to help pay for training and education.
  • You may now file Unemployment Insurance Claims over the internet. Click on the link to find the application, instructions and tutorials on how to file, and other information about unemployment claims and processes.
  • You may apply for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) through the JobsPlus One-Stop Career Centers. The Eligibility determination is made by representatives of the Department of Children and Families.


Services for Special Groups

JobsPlus offers specialized services for Veterans, individuals with disabilities, older workers, dislocated workers, in-school and out-of-school youth, and recipients of TANF.
