Youth Services The program elements for the Youth Program Services include:
  • Tutoring, study skills, trainging and instruction leading to completion of secondary school, including dropout prvention strategies
  • Alternative secondary school services
  • Summer employment opportunities directly linked to academic and occupational learning
  • Paid or unpaid work experiences
  • Post-Secondary Education and Training
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Supportive Services
  • Adult Mentoring


The Workforce Development Board of Okaloosa and Walton Counties has established electronic JobsPlus Youth Stops specifically accessible to and for the use of first-time workers in the local schools, juvenile justice facilities, public housing facilities and neighborhood centers. Dedicated computers with internet access are located at each of the designated sites. This provides internet connection to access the Virtual One Stop --

The Workforce Development Board has formed a partnership with the local chapter of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) to work with each of the JobsPlus Youth Stop school sites.
Employers are encouraged to list their youth employment opportunities for:
  • Job Shadowing
  • Internships
  • Paid or Unpaid Work Experience
  • Apprenticeships
  • OJT
  • After School Employment
  • Summer Employment
  • Full-Time Employment for High School Graduates of Okaloosa and Walton Counties
